The Nina Ottoson Dog Hide N’ Slide is an engaging and interactive puzzle toy designed to challenge your dog’s problem-solving skills and keep them mentally stimulated. This intermediate-level toy features a combination of sliding discs and swiveling flaps that hide treats, encouraging your dog to use their paws and nose to uncover the hidden rewards.
Key Features:
Interactive Puzzle Design: Combines sliding discs and swiveling flaps to hide treats, providing a stimulating challenge for your dog as they work to uncover the rewards.
12 Hidden Compartments: Includes 12 treat compartments where you can hide your dog’s favorite treats or kibble, making playtime both fun and rewarding.
Non-Removable Parts: The toy is designed with built-in pieces that cannot be removed by your dog, ensuring safe play without the risk of choking hazards.
Durable Construction: Made from a sturdy, BPA-free, and non-toxic material that can withstand rough play and regular use while ensuring your pet’s safety.
Non-Slip Base: Equipped with anti-slip pads to keep the toy stable and prevent it from sliding during play, allowing your dog to focus on solving the puzzle.
Easy to Clean: The toy’s design allows for quick and easy cleaning. Simply wash with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry before the next use.
Setup:
Place the toy on a flat surface.
Hide your dog’s favorite treats or kibble in the compartments under the sliding discs and swiveling flaps.
Position the discs and flaps to cover the treats, making sure they are locked in place.
Introduce to Your Dog:
Show your dog how to interact with the toy by sliding a disc or swiveling a flap to reveal a treat.
Encourage them to use their nose and paws to move the pieces and find the hidden treats.
Encourage Play:
Praise and reward your dog when they successfully uncover a treat, reinforcing their behavior and motivating them to continue playing.
If your dog struggles, you can partially move the pieces to give them a hint and help them understand how to play.
Increase Difficulty:
Once your dog is comfortable with the toy, you can increase the challenge by varying the positioning of the discs and flaps or by adding more treats to keep them engaged.
Rotate the toy’s use to maintain your dog’s interest and prevent them from becoming bored.
Regular Cleaning:
Remove any leftover treats from the toy after each use.
Wash the toy with warm, soapy water, ensuring all compartments and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned. Rinse well and allow to dry completely before storing or reusing.
Inspection:
Regularly inspect the toy for any signs of wear or damage, especially if your dog is a vigorous chewer. Replace the toy if any parts show significant wear to maintain safety.
Storage:
Store the toy in a dry, cool place when not in use to prolong its lifespan.
Avoid direct sunlight exposure for extended periods, as it may cause the material to degrade over time.
