Hey guys, my name is Mavro! I’m a little bit different to the other ABT dog’s because my eyes don’t work. My Mum Amy adopted me at 8 weeks of age as a rescue pup in 2013. Everything was pretty normal for a while. By 6 months of age Mum started to think there was something different about me as I’d bump into things and seemed hesitant in darker environments. I was soon diagnosed with PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) and lost all of my sight by 1.5years. It was a tough time for Mum and my brothers as I struggled with anxiety, fear, frustration and other insecurities during the adjustment period. We’ve done well since then; my Mum has been very supportive and put in a lot of effort with my training and behaviour therapy to make sure I lead a great life. I do so many things now; including dog sledding, training demonstrations, basketball and the list goes on! My goal is to inspire people that no matter what happens in life you can still lead a happy life and make the most of the good things you have!
