Daycare and Dip is the perfect blend of structured daycare fun and an exciting dog swimming adventure, designed to provide both physical exercise and enriching experiences for your dog. This unique service gives dogs the opportunity to enjoy a supervised swimming excursion while still benefiting from the routine, socialisation, and guidance they receive during their daycare day.

As part of this experience, dogs head out with their trusted ABT trainer to Gumhaven K9 Aquaplay, a purpose-built canine swimming facility. The pool is booked exclusively for ABT, meaning only dogs from our program attend. This private booking ensures a calm, controlled environment where dogs can relax, explore, and enjoy dog swimming at their own pace without the pressure of unfamiliar dogs or public distractions.

Safety is our top priority during all dog swimming sessions. Life jackets are provided and fitted to every dog, allowing them to swim comfortably and confidently regardless of their natural swimming ability. Our experienced behavioural trainers closely supervise the session, offering encouragement, guidance, and support, particularly for dogs who are new to swimming or still building confidence around water. For many dogs, this gentle introduction to dog swimming can be incredibly empowering.

The pool itself is heated and maintained at a comfortable 30 degrees, making dog swimming enjoyable year-round. The warm water is especially beneficial for dogs with joint stiffness, arthritis, or mobility challenges, as it allows them to move freely without placing pressure on their joints. Swimming provides a low-impact form of exercise that strengthens muscles, improves cardiovascular fitness, and promotes overall physical conditioning.

After swimming, the dogs enjoy time in the outdoor, fully fenced area where they can have a relaxed run, stretch their legs, and dry off naturally. This post-swim playtime helps release any leftover energy and allows dogs to transition calmly back into their daycare routine. Once back at ABT, dogs are given a small treat and time to rest, ensuring they finish the day feeling content, relaxed, and fulfilled.
